David Koma, I guess famous for dressing Cheryl Cole and Beyonce. Controversial in 2009 with Cheryl leading the way in the X factor, followed by Beyonce at the MTV awards.

On the popularity of the dresses, designer David Koma told Vogue:

“I am honoured that my first collection has had such a phenomenal response and particularly that such dynamic performance artists, with a strong individual style, have chosen to wear my designs,”

Today’s collection at London Fashion Week day 5, was equally as spectacular.

His signature design style is described as: “Sculptural shapes, heavy embellishment and a perfect fit.”

The vibe: Urban tribe.

The David Koma woman? “Powerful and confident.”

Three spring/summer 2012 inspirations:

“Aboriginal culture, femininity and lines”

The Details: Pieces of plastic Perspex on dresses did the impossible: caused black to reflect light.

Colour Details: White and black punctuated by
turquoise and yellow.

This Georgian designer has certainly come a long way. Staying true to his brand and image.
