Do we seem to be inundated with collaborations over the past year or so? In my opinion some, have been more successful than others. But these collaborations do give the majority of fashionistas the chance to sample a taste from one of their favourite designers, at a realsitic price.

This latest collaboration due to be released on the 8th March, is by……………….. Marni for H & M.

This sensuous trailer set in Marrakesh, Morocco, is directed by no other than Sofia Coppola. Daughter of the legendary Frances Ford Coppola of Godfather fame. In 2003 Sofia received an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for ‘Lost in Translation‘ starring Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson. With a background such as hers, we are sure to be inspired by this collection.

Accompanied by Brian Ferry of Roxy Music fame – is a perfect choice for this tempting and seductive trailer.

Marni for H & M

Background for the Marni Collaboration with H & M

Marrakesh, Morocco, is a city of immense beauty. A town of two halves: the ancient walled Medina, founded by Sultan Youssef Ben Tachfine in the Middle Ages, and the colonial Ville Nouvelle, built by the French in the mid-twentieth century. Each has its own delights – the Medina with its ancient palaces and mansions, labyrinthine souks and deeply traditional way of life, and the Ville Nouvelle with its pavement cafés, trendy boutiques, gardens and boulevards. What a perfect backdrop to film this enticing collection of unusual whimsical prints, floaty summer dresses, artistic impressionisms and colour combinations.

The trailers say it all. The question is; Can we wait till March?
