About Me – My Style, My Journey

“Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else”
 Judy Garland

This is my journey. This is my lifestyle blog by Lady G.

My name is Geraldine Looker – Geri or Lady G to my friends. I am a Brit that moved ‘Across the Pond’ at the mature age of 50 plus with my husband, to begin a journey to wherever it takes us.

Where are we now? Settled in Georgia and loving every minute of it.
I feel I am living someone else’s life. Living a dream!

What now? I am inspired by my surroundings, by the people we have met and the places we have visited so far. My passions include; shopping, fashion, beauty, home decor, interior design, cooking, the garden and of course my lovely family.

Share with me my journey through my blog; ‘Stylebyladyg.com’
Follow my faux pas (yes, there were a few). How I Adapted to a different way of life, driving on the wrong side of the road, the frustrations, deliberations, developments, discoveries and so much more.

Take some time out of your day to relax and enjoy – look at it as a bit of therapy!

“I couldn’t live without something that touches my heart. No one should.”
Fashion designer Donna Karan

Career History:

A Retired Midwife, with more than a few deliveries under my belt. I was successful in gaining a degree in English Law (LLB with Honours) in my forties (a late starter or a menopausal crisis?), from there I went on to achieve a diploma in Risk Management and Claims Handling. In 2009 I gained a diploma in Interior Design!

One of my few (really?) weaknesses are: Wine and chocolate, shopping, whether it be; handbags, glad rags, shoes or accessories, to soft furnishings, wall art, or the odd chair or two

Does that make me ”  A dedicated follower of fashion?” – KINKS.

I prefer to call it My Style – by Lady G

What next? Who knows where life’s Journey will take me. But I will endeavour to share it with you.

This was a welcome card we received when we recently purchased our next home. How lovely is this? Maybe I could turn it into a welcome mat?

Glad to see you are in Georgia. If you ever want tips on where to go just ask! 🙂 Especially if it is the outdoors! The Mahans are from London and live near me now. My favorite Brit though is Ray McNamara, a real character with one of the biggest hearts! He too is from London.

I used to manage a lady’s boutique and fine furniture store that you would have loved. It closed due to the economy.
