Servane Gaxotte’s whimsical jewelry collection revolves around ‘la vie en Rose’, the
actual life of Rose, a doll who invaded the designer’s pregnant dreams six
years ago. As dreams become reality, Rose has since been transformed into cute
wobbly silver or bronze charms that dangle from necklaces, earrings, and
bracelets featuring her in different outfits including little shorts and
sneakers or ballerina skirts. the collection has expanded to include everything
that Rose dreams up: various morphing animals like rabbits, dogs, mice, and
cats and treasure boxes and more.
The Servane Gaxotte jewelry collection will charm any girl or those who
are young at heart but the serious draw is her doll necklaces. The pendants
have been around for a few seasons, and have recently gained must-have status
in the designer’s native Paris, where she has a boutique. They’re pretty, but
with a delightfully goth edge, and every season Gaxotte’s girls have different
outfits and accessories, from python minidresses and evil-eye charms to frothy
tulle skirts and crystal-encrusted torsos. “I first created the dolls
while I was pregnant…I was dreaming of dolls!” says Gaxotte, who makes
around 80 different versions each season. “And with each one, I seek to
create my own dream wardrobe.”
The body parts are hinged to allow for movement. She has a vintage style chain with a bolt ring fastening. A small crystal and embossed logo sits by the clasp. She is hand made, in black metal.
