inOver the last few months or more, I have explored shopping online. Possibly, moving from the UK to the USA has something to do with it! The problem about shopping online is the variation is sizes. I guess that is one of the downsides of trying on at home as opposed to in store, you run the risk of returning items, incurring further postage expenses, which can leave you out-of-pocket, unless return postage is refunded?
Therefore, I decided that today that I would pop over to one of the Malls – Cumberland Mall in Smyrna (Georgia), mainly to get my out of control eyebrows threaded. But, obviously while I was there I took the opportunity to undertake a little fashion browsing.
I thought I would look in H & M, for some youthful inspiration, this is what I found!
I also had a leisurely stroll around out ALDO, Chico’s & DSW.
Ok! I confess that I had some time to kill between Mammogram and Dentist! The pleasures of being a woman!
I did come away with the sequin stripe top though! perfect with jeans, summer pants, denim skirt, and my lovely Reiss skirt …….. Pictures can be viewed of these closet items in a future post.
Items available online at the time of posting.
What are your thoughts about H & M?
Is there an age that you just don’t go in there?

Brian Ferry, colour, Consuelo Castiglioni, Lost in Translation, Margareta Van Den Bosch, Marni, Marni collaboration for H & M, Morocco, prints, Roxy Music, Sofia Copolla
Do we seem to be inundated with collaborations over the past year or so? In my opinion some, have been more successful than others. But these collaborations do give the majority of fashionistas the chance to sample a taste from one of their favourite designers, at a realsitic price.
This latest collaboration due to be released on the 8th March, is by……………….. Marni for H & M.
This sensuous trailer set in Marrakesh, Morocco, is directed by no other than Sofia Coppola. Daughter of the legendary Frances Ford Coppola of Godfather fame. In 2003 Sofia received an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for ‘Lost in Translation‘ starring Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson. With a background such as hers, we are sure to be inspired by this collection.
Accompanied by Brian Ferry of Roxy Music fame – is a perfect choice for this tempting and seductive trailer.

Background for the Marni Collaboration with H & M
Marrakesh, Morocco, is a city of immense beauty. A town of two halves: the ancient walled Medina, founded by Sultan Youssef Ben Tachfine in the Middle Ages, and the colonial Ville Nouvelle, built by the French in the mid-twentieth century. Each has its own delights – the Medina with its ancient palaces and mansions, labyrinthine souks and deeply traditional way of life, and the Ville Nouvelle with its pavement cafés, trendy boutiques, gardens and boulevards. What a perfect backdrop to film this enticing collection of unusual whimsical prints, floaty summer dresses, artistic impressionisms and colour combinations.
The trailers say it all. The question is; Can we wait till March?
What is your favourite collaboration to date?

Yesterday, whilst I was out and about on Peachtree Rd in Buckhead, Atlanta. I decided to drive over to Phipps Plaza. I was looking for one store in particular recommended to me by my daughter.
I found ‘Jeffrey’ on the ground floor of Phipps Plaza adjacent to Saks of fifth Avenue and opposite the marvellous restaurant and bar, The Tavern.
Heralded for bringing serious, runway hot fashion to Atlanta and New York. The owner, Jeffrey Kalinsky, selects the most exciting pieces that fashion has to
offer while emphasizing service. The company defines service as warm, fun,
friendly, and educational for the customer. Each associate is professionally trained to be a personal shopper for his/ her client.
Jeffrey has outfitted the Buckhead elite in the likes of Prada, Gucci, Stella Mc Cartney, Dsquared, Lanvin, Marni, Oscar De La Renta, Jason Wu and Michael Kors amongst others.
If it’s on the runway, look for it here. And unlike some boutiques, which are disarmingly spare, Jeffrey has plenty of inventory to admire.
The store was beautifully laid out. Designer clothing hanging magestically from free standing dress rails, like soldiers stood to attention and enticing you to touch, feel and try. Interspersed among the rails were glass showcase cabinets, that housed designer jewelry. Whether, your taste is ethnic, gold, silver or architectural, you will not be disappointed.
A glass fronted wardrobe was the home for evening purses, handbags and shoes, heels and claps glittered and sparkled.
Not to be outdone, the shoe and boot department was phenominal. From Louboutin to Chanel, Jimmy Choo, Lanvin and Manolo Blahnik.
My guide around the store was associate Wallace Fridy. He was exceptionally knowledgable with regards to the stock that Jeffrey held at present. Not just the clothing lines, but the extensive designer jewelry range too. He walked and talked me around the store, imparting his knowledge about the designs and the designers. I asked him about fashion events held this last year and future events planned – Wallace signed me up to be notified of any future events
While Jeffrey offers tons of luxury labels (at luxurious prices), the store is
undeniably ‘cooler’ than the similarly-stocked department stores. Is this I wonder due to the instore DJ who spins everything from ‘80s pop to indie rock.
I need to ‘up’ my clothing allowance before my next visit! Thank you to Wallace for a fantastic tour of this formidable store. Jeffrey a name to remember and revisit.
